Thank you for your interest in the Chipmaker Challenge competition. Applications are being scored. Once the five finalists have been identified, we will enter phase 2 (online voting). You can help decide who wins a brand new Hurco VMX42i mill or TM8i lathe by voting. Online voting will begin August 30. The results of the online voting will be announced at the LIVE CHIPMAKER CHALLENGE event at IMTS on Tuesday, September 9.
HOW IT WORKS
There are two parts to the contest. The first part includes general questions that are located on this page. Once you finish the general questions below, click "Continue to part 2 (Submit Your Essay). In order for your submission to be considered, you must complete both Part 1 and Part 2. Part 2 of the application includes your story and why/how you would benefit from winning a Hurco CNC machine. You can complete this second part by writing an essay or making a video--or BOTH!
The applications will be reviewed using a rubric that scores how well each section of the application is answered. Please understand the rubric doesn’t include spelling, grammar, etc., it focuses on how completely you answered the questions.
Additionally, this contest is open to people who plan to start a business. Therefore, you will enter N/A to questions that don't apply (for example, "What were your GROSS SALES last year?) and you must adapt your answers for other questions (for instance, the question that asks "What products do you manufacture?" you would need to provide what product(s) you plan to manufacture).
The Hurco Chipmaker Challenge” (the “Challenge” or "Promotion") is open only to qualified individual persons who are employed by, or an owner of a manufacturing firm or a job shop that has been in business zero years to five years as of July 1, 2014. A Participant must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia, and 18 years of age or older at time of entry. This Promotion is not open to the general public. Employees of Hurco Companies Inc. (the “Sponsor”), their advertising or promotion agencies, those involved in the production, development, implementation or handling of the Promotion and any agents acting for, or on behalf of the above entity, their respective parent companies, officers, directors, subsidiaries, affiliates, licensees, service providers, prize suppliers any other person or entity associated with the Promotion (collectively "Released Entities") and/or the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members (whether related or not) of each such employee, are not eligible. All U.S., federal, state and local and municipal laws and regulations apply.
